NUTRITION

Nutritional Medicine uses special dietary programmes and supplement regimes to help overcome a wide range of illnesses. Each programme is designed to suit the individual and no two programmes will be the same.

Nutritional Medicine focus is on naturopathic detoxification, i.e. removing waste products from the body. It believes most illness is a result of a build up of toxins in the system. Once this is complete, nutriment status and digestive ability is assessed and corrected. Finally a maintenance programme is set enabling the patient to remain healthy even though treatment has finished.

The outcome will be a balanced body free from disease.

Nutritional Medicine treats the root cause of the problem rather than merely suppressing the symptoms.

The list of problems helped by Nutritional Medicine is endless. It includes arthritis, PMT and menopause, prostate problems, depression, ME and fatigue, weight problems, digestive problems, anxiety, insomnia, migraines and skin complaints. It can also help with sporting performances and to improve general health.

The BANT (British Association of Nutritional Therapists) is an organanization whose aim is to promote nutritional therapy to the public. It also attempts to make contact with the medical profession.

A list of practitioners with the relevant recognized qualifications can be obtained from the society. A Newsletter "Nutritional Therapy Today" is also available 4 times a year. There are coordinators who work on a local basis to arrange meetings between both members and supporters.

The Wholistic Nutritional Medicine Society is set up in conjunction with Plaskett Nutritional Medicine College. It provides a list of qualified practitioners and holds regular meetings on subjects such as First Aid and Chinese Tongue diagnosis.
